Due to this, we are so excited to announce our new tree planting partnership with Veritree, who will now plant your overseas trees. This is going to revolutionise your experience at Carma, due to an increase in transparency and trust. We understand that you may have questions about this new partnership so we hope to answer them in this blog post!
Who is Veritree?
Veritree connects businesses to verified tree planting projects. They believe in the power of reforestation and nature based solutions as a way to combat climate change. They work with local communities across the world to educate and employ them in the tree planting process. Their focus is on creating data driven and data verified climate solutions.
Why Veritree and what makes them different?
Veritree uses ground breaking technology which creates visibility and transparency for both Carma and you. Veritree verifies and monitors the impact of your tree planting efforts to ensure accountability and transparency.
Their five step plan, in which they work alongside the local communities to gather data from multiple sources. Using this data, they verify the tree planting numbers are correct against established standards. This eliminates the chance that your trees have been double counted.
By combining our expertise, resources, and passion for environmental conservation, we are poised to create a greener and healthier world for generations to come.
What about your current partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects?
We have loved working with them but in order to enable us to be able to give you and other customers better data and verification we have decided to our preferred partnership for our overseas trees will be Veritree.
In order to grow as a company, we also need that data for upcoming projects that we cannot wait to share with you! We will be able to give you the most detailed information yet, creating better visibility for you, your business and your stakeholders.
Do you need to do anything, as a customer?
No, this is all being sorted by the Carma team.
Will prices increase?
No, prices will not be changing. You will still be able to get an individual subscription from £4.50 a month, the trees will just be planted by Veritree.
What trees will you be planting with Veritree?
As our partnership with Veritree develops we will be investing in as many projects as possible. Right now we are planting mangroves in Mteza Creek, Kenya.
Located on the Likoni river delta, this mangrove forest helps stabilise and protect the landscape from erosion and creates valuable nurseries in a unique ecosystem.
